Ghostwriting
If you have a compelling story or idea and wish to transform it into a nonfiction book, or screenplay, then you are in the right place at the right time. Light Books' ghostwriter service has a proven record of transforming ideas into published works. Our clients are exceptional individuals from all works of life.
What is ghostwriting? Ghostwriting has absolutely nothing to do with a ghost. It simply means that you hired a writer to write your book for you. Many of the books by prominent people - celebrities, presidents, and CEOs - are written by ghostwriters.
Why would you hire someone to write your book for you? Because you don't feel you have enough writing talent, or because you are too busy to write your own book.
How does it work? At Light Books, our professional writer will interview you, gather magazine, newspaper, and internet articles, videos, and other relevant information from you; conduct research about your topic, and write your book for you. Your name goes on the book as the author.
What kind of topics do you accept? We write mostly non-fiction books (Memoirs, Self-Help, Motivational, Inspirational, and Spiritual books). We will consider compelling fictional projects. We stay away from erotic and violent materials.
How long does it take? Ghostwriting projects typically take three to seven months to complete, depending on the length of the work, genre of the project, and amount of research involved. Our ghostwriting services include editing, proofreading, and page layout. Once completed, your manuscript will be ready to go to press. You have the option of having your manuscript published and distributed by Light Books at no additional cost.
How much does it cost? Our fee starts at $25,000 for a standard 200-page book, 5.5" x 8.5" and goes up according to length and complexity.
Manuscript Editing
For a well-written and organized manuscript: We correct grammar, punctuation, spelling, and the general flow. There's no rewriting: Fee ranges from $1,500 to $4,500.
For manuscripts requiring major rewrites: Fee ranges from $2,500 to $9,500, depending on the length of manuscript.
Proofreading
We check for congruency, grammar, spelling, punctuation, indentation, etc. Fee ranges from $1,000 to $2,000, depending on length of manuscript.
Book Cover Design
This includes artwork, scanning, sizing and placement of author photo as needed; writing of all promotional narrative on front and back; generation and placement of barcode; and preparation of files to the specifications of your printer or book manufacturer. Our normal fee for a professionally designed cover is $1,750.
Other Design
We also design CD covers, postcards, and other promotional items, such as posters.
Website Design
Our professional web designers will exceed your expectations. Fee starts at $1,500 and goes up depending on complexity.
Page Design and Layout
If all you need is page design, our fee is $12 per page for trim sizes 5.5 x 8.5 in., or 6 x 9. Oversized or art books will be more, depending on degree of complexity.
Photoshop Services
Our Photoshop specialist can help design your catalog, create artworks for your advertising campaign, or layout your art book.
Book Marketing
We work with public relations firms to provide maximum media exposure for our clients. Extent of marketing campaign depends on client's budget. You can select from a variety of publicity programs, some of which include a professionally written press release, delivered to regional and national targeted media contacts.
